Inspired by the storied associations of individual artists with unique places - from Argerich and Lugano to Bernstein and The Berkshires - Venezuelan pianist and composer Gabriela Montero brings world-class musicians, mentorship and community engagement to her new home town on Maryland's Eastern Shore. From the intimate setting of the Prager Family Center for the Arts in the heart of downtown Easton, audiences enjoy up-close performances by some of the most acclaimed artists of our time.
About the Artist
Born on 21 June 1987 in Tbilisi, Georgian pianist Khatia Buniatishvili was introduced to the piano at an early age by her mother, an enthusiastic music lover. Playing four handed remains one of the sisters’ favourite activities. Khatia’s extraordinary talent was recognized when she was very young. Aged six, she gave her début performance as soloist with an orchestra, and was subsequently invited to give guest performances in Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Russia,…
